About R House
We’ve been managing shared housing in Reading for over a decade — doing it properly, so it works for landlords and housemates alike.
We love what we do and when you meet us, you can experience that first hand. A team of experts with huge amounts of experience and enthusiasm, set up to ease the increasing pressures on HMO landlords.

Our story
We started with a simple belief: that managed houseshares, done properly, should benefit everyone and be centred around people. Good for the people who live in them. Good for the landlords who own them. That belief has not changed.
Ten years ago, that meant doing things differently to the rest of the industry. Too many houseshares were poorly run, poorly maintained and poorly matched, and landlords carried the risk without the reward of proper oversight. We set out to build something better, starting in Reading, one property and one relationship at a time.
That approach has scaled without losing what made it work. The standard has stayed the same throughout: complete hands-off management, done properly, so landlords get the returns and tenants get a home they are proud to live in.
Core values
People Orientated
We manage homes. We care about the people in them.
Supportive
There when it matters, for landlords and housemates alike.
Selective
We choose our properties carefully. Every landlord and every housemate is chosen with equal care.
Responsible
We take ownership — of your property, of our standards, and of the people in our care.
The team
Rebecca Brennan
Founder and Managing Director
Rebecca founded R House ten years ago with a simple belief: landlords deserve a genuinely hands-off way to manage their properties. She now leads a team of six, overseeing the day to day management of a growing portfolio of HMOs across Reading. Outside work, she can usually be found with her French bulldog, Bear, or in search of a good brunch. Her approach to the business has not changed since day one. Look after the people living in a property properly, and the financial outcomes follow.
Yazsmin
Onboarding and Offboarding Lead
Yazsmin manages every tenancy from move in to move out, running house inspections and check outs and keeping the back office side of the business moving. Outside work she is usually found catching up on a boxset or enjoying good music, and rarely misses a decent summer sunset. Her attention to detail means nothing is missed at either end of a tenancy.
Faye
Maintenance Coordinator
Faye coordinates maintenance across the portfolio, from scheduling a plumber for a blocked toilet to chasing a job through to completion. When she is not working she is usually out on a long walk or in a pub garden with her son and their dog. It is essential work and a large part of why R House properties stay in good condition.
Claire
Property Condition and Maintenance Support
Claire supports the operations team on property condition and inspections, and genuinely enjoys visiting the properties and meeting the housemates who live in them. Outside work she is kept busy by her two daughters, and makes time for a coffee at Costa whenever the school run allows it. Her work helps keep every home in the portfolio well maintained and properly looked after.
Jennifer
Viewings and Check-ins Coordinator
Jennifer handles viewings and check ins across the portfolio, giving prospective and new housemates a good first impression of their home from the moment they arrive. Outside work she is a keen outdoors type, usually happiest on a walk, and always up for good coffee and brunch.
